The Opportunity
Expanding Personal Injury Law Firm has an immediate opening for an Accounting Team Lead in our Lafayette, Louisiana office.
We are seeking a meticulous Accounting Team Lead to provide financial, administrative, and clerical support to the firm. This role requires strong interpersonal skills where professionalism, confidentiality, and integrity are showcased. A successful candidate for the role will be team and detail-oriented. Success in this role will also require the ability to multi-task and be solution driven to ensure accurate and timely processing of all matters, while serving as a leader for our Accounting team.
Objective
Provide financial, administrative and clerical support to the firm by providing oversight of Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Case Management software, General Ledger, Accounting staff and Lines of Credit.
Desired Outcomes
Accountable for management of Accounting Operations
Oversee daily accounting activities including Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, financial corrections to case management software and General Ledger maintenance
Assist Controller with financial data preparation, ensuring adherence to closed calendar dates
Instruct and train new and existing Accounting staff
Manage and approve team absences and conduct evaluations
Ensure accurate and timely processing of financial transactions and approval workflows
Implement and maintain internal controls, policies and procedures
Collaborate with other departments to support firm operation efficiency
Accountable for Client Lines of Credit
Monitor client credit lines at financial level
Ensure renewals are processed and communicated with the bank
Draft drawings and increases on a timely basis
Accountable for miscellaneous duties
Assisting management with various projects and implementations
Remit closed case outstanding funds in Trust to State Bar as per state guidelines
Treasury duties such as processing transfers between company accounts and monitoring account activity

Education and Experience
Bachelor or Associate degree in accounting preferred
At least 5 years of experience in accounting field
Management experience preferred
Familiarity with accounting principals
Working knowledge of accounting systems such as NetSuite
Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Teams
Physical Requirements
Prolonged periods sitting at a desk and working on a computer
Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times
